Off to the Races
The Woodbine Racetrack offers both standardbred and thoroughbred racing, and hosts many prominent events throughout the year. The track is home to the $1 million Queen's Plate, North America's oldest continuously run stakes race; the $1 million ATTO Mile; the $1.5 million Canadian International and the $1 million North America Cup for Standardbreds.

In addition, Woodbine hosts the Breeders' Stakes, third and final gem in Canada's Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing (comprised of The Queen's Plate; Prince of Wales Stakes, run at Fort Erie; and The Breeders' Stakes).

The Mohawk Racetrack, located a 25-minute drive west of Toronto, resides on a 450-acre tract of land surrounded by woodlands of spruce, cedar, pine and birch, in the village of Campbellville. Just 1/4 mile north of Highway 401 on the Guelph Line is where many of North America's champion harness horses compete.

Major league harness racing is scheduled five nights a week at the picturesque Campbellville oval in the Spring and Fall; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, with Sundays and Wednesdays dark. Post time each race night is 7:40 p.m. Mohawk is open year round to provide stabling and also serves as a training center for local horsemen.
