Most of the shirts at this boutique tend to be more on the casual end – piles of affordable enzyme-washed vintages shirts compliment the pricey jeans. New York City’s Opening Ceremony, Band of Outsiders and Patrik Ervell are just a few of the hot labels floating around Sydney’s.
Tailored To Perfection
Upstairs from the main floor is Mamane’s custom tailoring space where narrowly-fitted suits are made from fine fabrics. Custom-made jeans for men are also available and if you decide you want a second pair later on Sydney’s keeps the pattern and measurements on file for a reduced cost.
Arts Meets Cool Fashion
The 900 square-foot store looks like a modern Edwardian room with antique cash register, shelving units and counters. Neat display racks have been refurbished from old church pews and hang dozens of plain dress shirts and tees. Much of the space is made from wood to create a warmer, less sterile atmosphere. The store, which opened in April 2006, also has a smaller line of women’s clothes. Silk and knit dresses make up most of the stock with funky patterns. Fashion junkies looking for alternative apparel, with labels that have a cult following can find what they’re looking for here.
