B is for Bistro
With all of the randomness at Superior Restaurant, crazy things are bound to arise…and they sure do. With a location smack in the middle of touristy Yonge Street, you would expect Superior to be one big tourist trap. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Exhausted shoppers, theatre goers, the Wall Street crowd and regulars constantly flow through this comfortable bistro-style restaurant. Superior, housed in a building built just one year after confederation, is still pretty much in its original condition, thanks to a few minor renovations.
Here’s to your Health
Crispy salads, tasty appetizers and hearty-sized burgers at a reasonable price, make this restaurant ideal for the hungry guest. A highlight on their moderately-sized menu is the chicken supreme – a grain-fed yellow breast stuffed with baby spinach and Fontina cheese, a side of succotash and julienned vegetables, and topped in a porcini mushroom sauce. Another all-time favourite dish for the health-conscious is the citrus baby spinach salad with fresh strawberries and sugared almonds, topped with chèvre in a mustard poppy seed dressing. Who said healthy food can’t be exciting?
