Mecca Of Used Tunes
This record store, located in the heart of the Bloor Street strip in the Annex, is Toronto's biggest retailer of used CDs, DVDs, videos, records and other paraphernalia, and boasts almost constantly open hours- 364 days per year, 10am until midnight. The store is a haven for those looking to regain some cash on their used CDs and other items. Sonic Boom's policy is to make an offer on every item (including scratched CDs), even if it's only a quarter. The amount offered on an item is determined by its condition, demand, supply and how recently it was released- comforting to know that even your copy of Dance Mix ’92 could find a home here.

Vast Selection- But It May Take a While
Buying up to 800 CDs and 50 DVDs in a given day, Sonic Boom is a huge retailer, well-suited to music fiends who love the thrill of the hunt. Finding a particular title may take a while, but the time certainly pays off. Browsing is generally the way to go in Sonic Boom, since the selection is so vast. In addition to the enormous array of used titles, Sonic Boom also carries new versions of many genres including pop, punk, metal, country, rock, local artists and more.

Vinyl and Other Ephemera
A sizable vinyl collection fills out the back of the giant box store, and other ephemera (such as posters and some clothing) are available for purchase along the heavily decorated walls. Sonic Boom's flyer and free magazine area, located just inside the doors before the cash registers, is a great place to check out what's going on in the Toronto music and cultural scene. Several CD and vinyl listening stations sit at the front of the warehouse store, which come in handy when the echoing sound of CDs being looked through at warp-music-nerd-speed gets to be a bit too much.
