Good Baking
The Asian and Central American flavours of Senses – a restaurant built into the Soho Metropolitan Residences – are the creations by a chef who applies healthful ingredients to indulgent dishes. The adjoining bakery (which has satellite locations at Queen and Yonge and Bayview Village mall) offers fresh-from-the-oven goods alongside foie gras terrines, pastramied salmon, and other delicacies. The bakery is also a more casual setting for hotel guests and local residents to partake of morning eggs and waffles, lunchtime sandwiches and pastas, or coffee, pastries, and artisan chocolates and truffles for sit-down or takeout purposes. The bar, open at 4pm daily, is graced with contemporary millwork and cozy velvet seating.

Six Senses of Dining
The entrées at Senses Restaurant are noted for their sublime qualities. Chilled soups, skewered prawns, seared tuna salad and ricotta fritters are among the items noted for their stimulation of not only taste, but also sight and smell per the establishment’s name. Their exotic selection of entrées includes squab breasts, pan-seared smoked bass, and Arctic char, graced with garnishes and sauces. A triple seared beef tenderloin with Stilton and miso tart with foie gras sauce is the quintessential example of just how intricate the offerings can get. Shredded duck, mushroom tempura roll, and ruby red tuna tartare are among delights also tailored for bar consumption.

Sensational Feeling
The baked goods are where touch also factors in the Senses equation. Buttermilk biscuits, multi-grain loafs and onion crisps are all produced on-site. Desserts like apple tarts, banana cream pie, or ginger panna cotta provide the aftermath to any meal, or are handily available for takeout. Senses also boasts its own catering service, geared to both banquets and boardroom-style snacking.
