Sushi in the Sky
Located on the 15th floor of the Scarborough Delta, this cool and classy restaurant serves authentic Japanese cuisine. Sagano is open for lunch throughout the week and dinner seven days a week. Lunch time appetizers include sushi, sashimi, miso soup and avocado with ponzu dressing, a citrus-y soy-based salad. Entrees consist of larger plates of sushi, tempura and teriyaki, as well as specials like the Chicken Almond Katsu, deep-fried chicken that’s been coated in almond. You can also order udon or soba noodle dishes with seafood, beef or chicken.

Long List of Options
The selection of dinner appetizers is much more extensive than lunch. Try the shrimp-stuffed shiitake mushrooms, scorched flounder sashimi or the Nasu Dengaku; grilled eggplant brushed with a sweet miso sauce. Mains include the delicious Kiki, a plate of grilled beef tenderloin and lobster tail served with miso, teriyaki and ginger sauces. You can also order Yabemono. The do-it-yourself hot pot comes with thinly sliced beef and assorted vegetables. For dessert, try green tea ice cream or the hot and cold ginger ice cream.

Bento and Buffet
Sagano also serves a variety of Bento Boxes, all of which include soup or salad, ice cream and green tea. The popular Umi No Sachi contains sashimi, California rolls, tempura, salmon teriyaki and scallop yakitori. If you’ve got a serious hunger and think you can stomach more than a single serving, go for the Taste of Kyoto deal. This all-you-can-eat option is available at lunch and dinner and offers maki, mains, temaki, appetizers, desserts, soups and salads.
