The Red Tomato is a popular restaurant for theatre-goers and those looking for a fun, casual environment to meet after work. The restaurant is located on a busy strip of eateries all competing for the artsy crowd and stands out by offering a diverse menu and a comprehensive wine list. The comfortable and eclectic dining room and sidewalk patio is an excellent spot to see and be seen and take in the local colour.
Best of Many Worlds
The Red Tomato’s menu includes all of the expected Italian dishes like many types of pasta as well as some unusual surprises like a full dim sum menu with meat and seafood dumplings, fried chicken and shrimp spring rolls and veggie pot-stickers. There are also high-end entrees like veal marsala, chicken supreme, and duck confit. If you’re stopping by for a drink and some munchies, there is a separate menu of “small plates” including three types of ribs, samosas, and Red Tomato’s famous coconut shrimp with Thai dipping sauce that make a perfect snack to share.
Best of Many Worlds
The restaurant’s proximity to the theatres isn’t the only reason why you’ll find so many patrons taking in a cocktail before or after the show. The Red Tomato also offers a dinner and show package where you can enjoy a three course Italian meal with your choice out of five appetizers and entrees, plus dessert. Or, stop by for a two-course prix fixe meal anytime.
