The Queen Mother offers global and Lao-Thai dishes in a warm, intimate setting. Opt for the ambiance of the candle-lit dining room or ask for a seat on the secret-garden-style patio out back. Be sure to check out the art on the walls. The Queen Mother employs its own curator so the pictures change monthly.
Famous Sunday Brunch
Sunday brunch is an event unto itself, boasting its very own menu and a fantastic reputation. Light eaters can order a Montreal-style bagel served warm with cream cheese. More typical brunch options include omelettes, eggs Benedict or any-style eggs with toast, homefries and bacon. Brunchers looking for something a little out of the ordinary might want to try the Bergamo Bake, a concoction of cornbread-y, sausage-y delight that is stuffed with caramelized onions, brie cheese and apple maple brown butter sauce.
Fantastic Fusion
If you’re on the hunt for some of the fusion dishes the Queen Mum is so famous for, you can choose from Phad Thai, Bah me Hang, or Khao Soy Gai. Start the meal with a fresh salad. The spinach and goat cheese gets a sweet spin in terms of texture, with a handful of crunchy toasted pumpkin seeds. Shareable appetizers include wasabi guacamole with foccacia bread for dipping, the dim sum quartet, and sticky rice served with a saucy peanut dip. Curried veggie roti, spinach and ricotta cannelloni and a selection of sandwiches beef up the lunch menu. For dinner, your options expand to include chipotle and lime-marinated chicken breast or a sizzling seafood hot pot. Desserts depend on the day, but there is no shortage of delectable choice in the Queen’s cake display case.
