Double Double
In operation since the early ‘90s, and still packed three or four nights a week, the Phoenix has evolved into a Toronto institution. The building is divided into two separate rooms, where club goers can listen to DJs spinning new rock, alt rock, hip hop, reggae, and hits from the ‘80s and ‘90s. The Phoenix doubles as one of the city’s premiere live music venues, with popular groups ranging from rock to hip hop playing in the cavernous Main Room, with its 18,000 square foot dance floor. The Phoenix will typically have several such events every month.

Location, Location, Location
Well outside Toronto’s club district, The Phoenix supplies a full-on club experience – with state of the art lights and sound, for instance, as well as a 50 foot long marble bar – but without the exclusivity of some of Toronto’s blingier establishments. The formula has proven immensely popular with post-secondary students, who make up a significant section of the Phoenix’s regular clientele – in particular those hailing from Ryerson University, which is just around the corner.

And For Those Who Like to Chill…
Clubbers and concert-goers tired of shakin’ it on the dance floor have a couple of alternatives at the Phoenix. They can climb up to Le Loft, a massive hanging balcony outfitted with its own bar. Lounge seating and television screens are available to get comfortable with; alternatively, patrons can check out the scenery in the Main Room, which Le Loft overhangs. They might also choose to retire to the Parlour, which also has seating, as well as its own separate sound system, a small dance floor and pool tables.
