Appetizing Delights
A restaurant that defines the Greektown experience, Ouzeri offers large portions perfect for group indulgence late into the evening, along with a wide list of wines from Greece and around the world. The appetizer list is comprehensive in itself: Roasted eggplant, hummus, Tzatziki, marinated mushrooms and olive and feta are just the start. There’s also taramosalta (pink caviar dip), skordalla (creamy potatoes), dolmades (grape wine leaves), gigantes (giant lima beans) and keftedes (seasoned ground beef and lamb patties), plus spanakopita (spinach and feta wrapped in layered filo), sikotakia (chicken livers sautéed with fresh herbs and vegetables) and ortikia (quails grilled with a blend of seasoning). Spicy sausage, stuffed escargots and shish kebobs are also on the starter lineup.

Exotically Greek
Ouzeri also offers an extensive menu of seafood appetizers, with concoctions involving prawns, octopus, calamari, mussels, scallops and smoked salmon. Soups are another specialty, with signature recipes featuring fish, vegetables and chicken breast. Mousaka comes with beef and vegetarian style, Rosemary pie is baked with either chicken or lamb, and there are pasta dishes like makaronada (mussels, prawns and scallops served on a bed of linguini) and pastichio (mezzani pasta and ground beef layered and topped with béchamel cream).

Surf and Turf
The entrées at Ouzeri represent both the surf and the turf. Red snapper, Atlantic salmon, poached grouper fillet and dried, salted cod. More elaborate dinner entrées focus on calamari and black tiger shrimp. Souvlaki is a menu staple, alongside rack of lamb, spiced ground beef, lamb chops, grilled chicken, feta lamb, New York steak, chicken Parmesan, quails and chicken breast. And, for parties of three or four who want a bit of everything with their wine, Ouzeri serves up platters with a generous selection of the meat or seafood menu highlights.
