The high-tech offices and 21st century urban living complexes sprouting up in Liberty Village have inspired bars and restaurants to keep pace with the evolution, and Liberty Bistro draws the locals with a laid-back vibe that includes live jazz on the weekend. Retro plastic chairs and leather couches create a feeling of comfort, whether to hang out all night or drop by for a quick cocktail.
Tantalizing Tastes
The Liberty opens for lunch each day with soup, salads, quesadillas, crab cakes and calamari on the starting lineup. Sandwiches include avocado melt, turkey club, grilled vegetables, steak and burgers. Pepperoni, margherita, three-cheese or primavera pizzas are served up each day along with pasta in various shapes sizes and flavours, including Pad Thai. Risotto, herb-roasted chicken, grilled salmon and Angus steak are some of the mains. The dinner menu expands to include a Brie melt, coconut beer shrimp and mussels among the starters, and lamb shank, filet mignon and lobster tail surf & turf are notable entrees.
Imaginative Brunch
Brunch is an integral part of any downtown bistro’s offering, and the Liberty kitchen gets especially creative for the occasion. The omelette choices include Mozzarella cheese with a medley of mushrooms, or butternut squash with dill and Brie, and Swiss cheese, smoked turkey and asparagus. Hot porridge, French toast with bananas, pecans and Grand Mariner maple syrup sauce, and two poached eggs on a grated potato pancake with smoked salmon and spinach are a few of the other specialties designed to help make the weekends special.
