To the centre of the labyrinth
Location isn’t the only thing Labyrinth has in common with the fantastic Future Bakery. The two establishments also share a kitchen. This means you can indulge in any of the Bakery’s tasty treats or meals without having to leave your pint behind at the bar. Their sandwiches, homestyle dinner dishes, salads and desserts have long been hailed as some of the most delicious and affordable items in the Annex.
Tunes for twentysomethings
One neighbourhood hangout the Labyrinth is most decidedly unlike is the popular Brunswick Tavern across the street. The crowd at Labyrinth tends to be in their later 20’s and early 30’s. There is always music, but it’s never so loud you can’t hear yourself think, and the tunes are always consistently high quality. Drinks include spirits, wine, Alexander Keith’s, Stella Artois and Labatt 50.
Nightly specials
You’re in for a different vibe and a different set of deals depending on the day you visit. Monday nights feature all-request 90’s tunes and the drink specials include anything on the bar rail. Tuesday’s open mic night starts at 10pm, right around the same time the discounted Jager shots start flowing. Wednesday is martini night, and a DJ spins 80’s and 90’s R&B. Thursday heralds the impending weekend with The Beats — an evening of electro beats and mash-ups, complete with drink specials on domestic bottles and rail drinks. Friday’s rock nights feature Jack Daniel’s as the specialty drink of choice, and Saturday is known as Party Boys Mix Tape. This pop-electro-indie night offers cheap shots of tequila. While Labyrinth doesn’t have a website just yet, it does operate a Facebook group. Join to keep up on deals and events.
