Snacks are their specialty
Kilt Pub is located just on the edge of the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus, making it the perfect place for an after-class pint or a post-exam party. The pub doesn’t do much in the way of full, rounded meals, but they are known among regulars for their selection of deep-fried treats, finger foods and pub specialties. You can order wings with your choice of sauces (honey garlic, mild, medium or spicy) and a side of fries. If you’re not interested in working for your dinner, try the chicken fingers. These succulent tenders — breaded, fried and served with plum sauce or ketchup — offer instant gratification.
Plenty of parking
While Kilt Pub doesn’t carry a huge selection of imports, the bar always has homegrown options on tap, including Molson Canadian, Labatt Blue, Rickard’s Red and Alexander Keith’s. You can also order cocktails, shots, or the house wine — California’s well-priced Carlo Rossi. If you’re up for more than just a casual pint, stop by on a Friday or Saturday night. That’s when Kilt hosts karaoke, a popular event that takes place every weekend. Get together with a group and dare each other to take a turn on the stage, or stop by on your own and steal the show! The pub is easily accessible by public transit, but if you do drive, parking isn’t a problem. Kilt’s 48-space parking lot provides ample room and is open for business all night if you find you have to leave your car at the end of the evening. It’s been known to happen.
