Classic Steakhouse Menu With a Few Twists
Appetizers are seafood-heavy, and include items like oysters Rockefeller, Dungeness crab cakes and prawn cocktail. Standard issue steakhouse salads like spinach salad and Caesar salad (which is prepared at your table in the dining room) and (appropriately) a beefsteak tomato and red onion salad are available. Truly a surf and turf restaurant, Hy’s offers a full selection of seafood mains, from salmon filets to more exotic dishes like Cuban lobster tails and blackend ahi tuna (Cajun style).

Other house specialties include Cajun rib steak and (talk about guilding the lily) filet mignon served with melted gorgonzola cheese on top. If you’re dining at Hy’s for lunch, you’ll find that the lunch menu features some of the classic steak dinners (lunch sized) as well as dishes that are only served during afternoon hours, like chicken hash a la “21". There are also several lunch-only salads.
Four Different Cuts of Meat
Steak lovers can choose from just a few different cuts of meat: filet mignon, porterhouse, or bone-in rib steak. There is also Hy’s signature steak: the “only” New York strip, which come served with Hy’s steak sauce. It’s named this way because the sauce is only available at Hy’s. All steaks are cut in-house, charcoal broiled to order and made from AAA Alberta beef.
