The Holt Renfrew chain of department stores remains one of the leading Canadian retailers of men and women's clothing and accessories, and for good reason. Established in 1837 in Quebec City as a hat store, Holt Renfrew gained international recognition as the makers of fine fur garments and built upon that reputation to become one of the most successful department stores in Canada.
