Valuing quality over quantity, Flash and Crash is an excellent music resource for picky music fans looking for rarities and classics in used CDs and DVDs. Certainly not the place to find a Top 40 recording (unless it’s been critically lauded), Flash and Crash offers a small, hand-picked selection of music from every genre, including pop and rock, punk, indie, hip-hop, R&B, world, reggae and more. Established in 2002, this record store has been providing music fans with quality recordings chosen by an owner devoted to great music and a knowledgeable staff composed of local musicians.
The Indie Stigma of Snobby Staff is Turned On It’s Head
Though purchases by the store are picked through with a fine tooth comb to ensure quality, Flash and Crash’s biggest hand above their competitors is the friendly, neighbourhood feel of the place. The stigma of snobby staff who mock purchases and is turned on its head here. Not out for big bucks or a high turn over, Flash and Crash is a small business established by honest lovers of music and of their community- staff and patrons are often found hanging out in the store or on the tiny outside stoop. For those looking to sell, the criteria is high, but Flash and Crash offers a good rate for used goods. Works by local artists are displayed in the otherwise modestly decorated store, and there is a small flyers section where customers can get up to date on local shows and other events. Flash and Crash offers a deal on their fairly-priced used CDs – Buy 10 and Get One Free cards are available.
