Run by the roadhouse masterminds behind restaurants like Casey’s, East Side Mario’s and The Bier Market, Fionn MacCool’s is a downtown Irish Pub that offers a new special every night of the week. You might find a prix fixe menu in place one night and a pair of pints for $8.00 the next! Check Fionn’s online calendar to keep up to date on their deals as well as live entertainment bookings.
What’s a Pub Without the Pints?
You’ll find bottled beers from every corner of the Earth including Kingfisher, Brahma and Staropramen. If you prefer draught, Fionn’s keeps kegs of domestics as well as imports like Stella, Hoegaarden, Strongbow, Kilkenny and, of course, Guinness. Fionn’s also offers 18 different wines and has an impressive selection of 93 single malt scotches and Irish whiskeys.
Chow Down, Drink Up
Breakfast is a weekend affair but Fionn’s makes the most of it, keeping the grills fired up until 4pm. After that, you have to stick to the lunch and dinner menus. Good, greasy starters (fret not –they’re all fried in non-trans fat canola) and fresh salads serve to kick start the appetite in preparation for delicious mains like Fionn’s stacked sandwiches, burgers and grilled mains. Some of the most popular dishes include slow-cooked braised Guinness short ribs, chicken tikka masala curry, fresh northern Atlantic halibut and AAA Alberta sterling silver steaks. If you’re after authentic options, check out the Irish favourites. The Guinness steak and mushroom boxtie wraps tender beer-braised beef and mushrooms up inside a potato pancake while the chicken cottage pie is a homemade dish that blends chicken and veggies in a fresh, flaky crust.
