Kitchen Confidential
An intimate hideaway featuring an eclectic wine list, the Fat Cat Bistro also offers an awe-inspiring catering service, and the same critically acclaimed dishes made in its kitchen can be designed in any private setting. The establishment was the brainchild of Matthew Sutherland, a chef fixated on creating unique dishes with a personal touch, served in a laid-back setting designed for interaction with diners.

Designer Dishes
Fat Cat’s menu features main courses like pan-roasted east coast halibut, seared skate wing and veal osso bucco. Dry-aged ribeye, roasted breast of pheasant, and lamb three ways are also nightly options. The appetizers include soup of slow cooked Ontario onion, citrus and juniper cured duck breast, figs wrapped in Serrano ham, sesame cured sea scallops, pan-seared Quebec foie gras, and Dungeness crab wrapped in house smoked Atlantic salmon. The authoritative wine list includes flamboyant and robust reds, and lively and full-fruit whites.

Eclectic Catering
A second Fat Cat location in the Roncesvalles Village brings the character of the Yonge and Eglinton location to the renewed area that its proprietor calls home. The catering services also capture the popularity of the restaurant’s fusion of French, Portuguese and Spanish influences, brought to events large and small, including private cooking lessons taught by chef Matthew Sutherland.
