Everyday Gourmet has a long history in the St. Lawrence Market. The store has operated for nearly three decades, and carries coffee, tea and spices. In terms of coffee, you’ll find dozens of varieties, from primo Jamaican Blue Mountain to Thai blends. Popular beans include fair trade Mexican and Peruvian, as well as all of the house varieties. The most notable thing about Everyday Gourmet is that all of the coffee beans are roasted on site, starting with green beans from around the globe, which means your coffee will be as fresh and flavourful as possible.
Try a Cup Before you Buy a Pound
If all you want is one cup, sidle up to the coffee bar, where you can choose from six different types of coffee, as well as espresso-based beverages. Options vary, but the espresso made from the house bean blend is served daily. If you’re unsure which bean is best for you, this is a great place to try before you buy.
Tea, Too
Take note, tea lovers: Everyday Gourmet isn’t just about coffee. Their tea selection is very impressive, and includes bulk and packaged varieties (in bags). The store carries several top-notch brands, including Stash, Kitimai, and Taylors of Harrogate, so no matter what you’re looking for, whether it’s a mild Japanese green or an exotic pumpkin spice or chocolate hazelnut, you’re in luck. In the rare instance that there’s something you can’t find, the owner will go out of her way to track it down for you.
