Skilled instructors offer eight week classes for the novice to advanced runner here. Start with the “begin to run” clinic, graduate to the 10 kilometre and for the really inspired, the half/full marathon. All classes include must-know info like running form, breathing, stretching, heart monitoring, nutrition and more. Each participant receives a t-shirt, yoga for runners spin class and a training manual.
The Relaxing Side
Yoga is a popular form of exercise that’s been around for 5,000 years and aims to balance mind, body and spirit. While the two popular forms of yoga – Ashtanga and Hatha – are offered, expect interesting twists including their Friday night candlelight yoga, pre-natal, core-conditioning, yoga for runners and cyclists, and for seven to 12 year-olds, a four week course called family yoga.
Some people like a leisurely ride in the park, others just want to sweat. Their 45-miute spin classes will achieve just that with heart-pumping music zipping you on hills, flat roads, sprints and mountains. If you’ve never set foot on a spin bike, there’s a four week intro to spinning course. For those who want to balance a workout with yoga, the spin/yoga journey combines a 35 minute spin followed by 40 minutes of Ashtanga postures to strengthen the core, open hips and balance the posture.
Take a few minutes to peruse the shop for workout gear from Saucony, Nike, Adidas, Sugoi and Asics. There’s also their in-house brand with gym bags, yoga bags and hats. All of the sales staff are fully knowledgeable about fitting in the right shoe and picking out clothes which suits your needs best, so you know you’re in good hands.
Note: Call for class schedules and clinic times.
