The Theatre District is no place to cheap out on décor, and Dazzling has clearly taken note. The interior is smart, modern, and sexy. In the main dining room, cushy chocolate brown leather seating gives way to romantic red beams embellished with a floral design and complemented with soft, warm lighting. Dazzling is a three-storey space, with a private dining area, two bars, a sidewalk patio, and a rooftop balcony. The main dining area is on the first floor, and is dominated by a long, sleek bar that runs the length of the dining room. The clean lines and soft lighting make the restaurant a good place for a romantic get-together or to enjoy a cocktail and an elegant appetizer before a show.
Everything Asian, Under One Roof
Dazzling features an Asian fusion menu of Thai, Japanese, and Chinese dishes. Appetizers include dumplings (Japanese and Chinese style), spring rolls (Vietnamese and Thai style), and the “Dazzling Sensations”, an elegant dish of tuna or scallops served in a martini glass. The all-inclusive dinner menu features a variety of Thai-style curries, teriyaki, noodle, and fried rice dishes with a variety of Asian flavours. Purists, or those looking for the Asian variety of comfort food will enjoy the “from the wok” section of the menu, with straight-forward Chinese dishes like orange beef, basil chicken, and General Tao chicken or beef.
Bold, Inventive Sushi Rolls
There is also an inventive assortment of sushi on offer, including the Okinawan makimono, with sweet potato, banana, and mango and kewpie, and the restaurant’s signature rolls, made with the kitchen sink of seafood (eel, shrimps, smoked salmon, tobiko and soft shell crab). There is also a selection of riceless rolls, including one with avocado, eel, and green tea paste.
