Flanked by the sturdy stone casing of King West’s acclaimed restaurants and roomy lofts, one might easily miss the smooth grey plaque signifying the entrance to Century Room. Yet eight stairs up behind a pair of modest wooden doors, upscale lounge ambiance is offered on the main level of the Davis and Henderson building.
Historic Construction Brackets Modern Elegance
Within a framework erected in 1904, Century showcases many of the structure’s original fixtures alongside the polished gleam of contemporary styles. Spacious 16-foot ceilings, russet brick walls, and naturally aged hardwood floors are pleasing throwbacks to the space of 100 years past. Meanwhile, modern features that complement its classical shell include burnished pink lighting and designer furniture. All the views count here: bay windows offer a bird’s eye view of King West action, but Century also takes pride in the sleek steel design of its restrooms, featuring LCD monitors mounted on Italian Bisazza tile.
Seamless Transitions a Private Tête-à-Tête’s
Century offers an inviting public setting for patrons to mingle, and further social intimacy through one of 14 private VIP areas. Here, attentive customer service – serving groups as small as 4-6, to parties of 12-14 – includes bottle service to your table, as well as private toilettes for your ablutions. If you would like to continue your engaging tête-à-tête outdoors, try the club’s tree-lined courtyard, or year-round heated patio.
Tip: Have a special dinner to plan, or a corporate night? Century Room rents out rooms for special occasions and helps make things perfect.
