With its white, gallery-esque walls and various art pieces, Boutique Le Trou fits right into the Queen Street surroundings. A boutique in the traditional sense of the word, the shop offers more than just beautiful clothes. The quiet, sophisticated environment is highlighted by the magnificent floor, which is made of dark barn wood and laid in a herringbone pattern, standing in stark contrast to the clean white walls. Frequent visitors will also notice that the tiny shop always features a rotating piece of artwork that serves as the focal point of the room.
Classic Collection
Boutique Le Trou carries a mix of classic and innovative clothing. Although the store specializes in lines by mid to upscale Canadian designers – and the focus is definitely on Canadian wear – it also houses a small collection of imported designs. The clothing is all over the map in terms of price and style, ranging from casual daywear to classy evening apparel. The clientele is mature and sophisticated, although some pieces will appeal to a younger crowd. Accessories are also a big part of the boutique’s appeal, offering delicate jewelry, shoes, and perfume to complement any occasion.
Look Closer
Regulars have no problem locating the tiny shop, but first timers are warned that the name and address is barely visible from the street. Look at the window displays instead for an outline of a woman’s body covered with tape measures- so very Queen West.
