Pub by Day, Bar by Night
Dubbed by locals as having some of the best burgers in town, the Blue Moon Pub also doubles as a live venue for songwriters, bands and corporate events. Toting over 4,000 square-feet of space, the weekends are usually jammed with DJs spinning the latest in rock or hip-hop in the warm artistic decor filled with pool tables. The place usually turns on the mics after a hockey or basketball game on the bar’s TVs.
Wee Blue Moon Has Wii
In the colourful main bar, regulars relax to the sounds of house and jukebox tunes. A quick walk towards the back reveals a dimly-lit atmosphere, complete with shabby-chic couches. Here you’ll find the open-mike Thursday acts, bands, and the occasional comedy show. Sundays tend to be game night – after a few rounds of the foosball table people can play a few games on the bar’s Nintendo Wii system.
Comfort Foods in Comfort
The Blue Moon’s menu is what you’d normally expect: nachos, pierogies, chicken fingers and other common pub fare. There is always take-out, but this is more of a place to sit down and snack on food with your friends over the 12 beers on tap, including Blue Moon’s own lager and a seasonal brew from Mill Street. With about a decade in the business, the pub plays host to all walks of life - from the casual crowd, to the artsy - with book launches, live bands and corporate events occupying the stage.
