Profile
See the world go by
People watching is a beloved summertime activity here in Toronto, and Black Skirt affords one the opportunity to see plenty of passersby. This quaint bistro, located just south of Bloor St, is known for its relaxed vibe and its patio. Chill out with a beer, a glass of wine or a fabulous cocktail and watch a section of the world go by. The appetizer menu features plenty of mouth-watering treats. The fountain cools the air even as you take in the rays.
Come for the drinks, stay for dinner
Highlights on the menu include house specialties such as spezzatino, which is spaghetti with veal chunks and meatballs served in a marinara sauce. Chicken cacciatore is also a popular item here, with its rich and savoury sauce. The showstopper might be the Osso Bucco, which is a traditional Italian stew made with braised veal shank and rich, hearty tomato-based sauce. Considering the menu and the location, the prices are very reasonable. The wine list is modest in size but still exciting.
