The Black Dog takes environmental responsibility to a whole new level. Not only does the pub offer local, organic produce whenever possible, it also has a long and impressive selection of Ontario wines and it sells fair trade coffee. The Black Dog also uses biodegradable plastic bags and recycled takeout containers, its used fryer oil is converted into biodiesel, table candles are soy-based and green light bulbs are all on dimmers or timers. For starters, try the slow roasted onion soup, nachos or coconut tiger shrimp with a sweet chilli sauce for dipping.
