An Experience for Everybody
The Big Stretch Yoga Centre provides a unique approach to yoga, incorporating techniques and philosophies from several different styles. Utilizing both Hatha and Raja yoga instruction, the experience is gentle yet effective. By toning the body, reducing stress, and increasing flexibility, the art of yoga aims to balance the mind, body, and spirit. The philosophy is that yoga is for everyone, everywhere, whether they are male, female, young, old, in the office, at home, or in the yoga studio.

Between Gentle and Vigorous
The studio provides everything from mats, to blankets and even eye pillows. The warm, sun-washed space is adorned with candles while relaxing music sets the mood for peaceful reflection and healing. All yoga classes begin with rhythmic breath control and finish with a period of final relaxation. Beginners are suited for “gentle stretch” yoga, while the signature “big stretch” class involves a wider breadth of postures. The vigorous “sport yoga” takes a sampling from Hatha, martial arts, Tai Chi, and Pilates movements. All classes are drop-in style unless pre-registration is indicated. Instruction runs Monday to Sunday, with many convenient options for those opting to squeeze a little stretch before or after their workday.

Getting Away
From time to time, the studio offers yoga retreats that are like mini vacations for the mind, body, and spirit. These all-inclusive packages include hiking, swimming, hot tubbing and of course – yoga! Past locations have included Algonquin Park and Chalet Claremont.
