The Bathurst Jewish Community Centre is a community centre in the truest sense of the word. The goal of the organization is to build a meaningful Jewish community by focusing on important elements of Jewish life, culture and opportunities for learning. The BJCC offers a bevy of classes, workshops and lectures. The BJCC is frequented by infants, youngsters, teens, young adults, adults and seniors. The ethos of the community centre reflects the belief that being Jewish is something for the entire family.
The BJCC offers a diverse group of classes for every age group. For adults, there are fitness programs like cardio workouts and core conditioning, as well as indoor sports, personal training and massage therapy. Kids programs include racquet ball, martial arts, indoor rock climbing and boxing. Summer camps, “break camps” and daycare are also available when school’s out temporarily (such as over March break) or during the summer.
Swimming, Swimming, in the Swimming Pool
The BJCC’s aquatic program has swimming lessons for adults, parent and tot swims as well as Red Cross programs for children. For advanced swimmers, the BJCC offers Bronze Cross, First Aid and lifeguard/instructor training programs.
