Located within the luxurious Park Hyatt Hotel, Annona Restaurant keeps an upscale vibe coursing through its décor, menu, and A-list clientele. Named after the Roman goddess Annona—a mythological figure who represents the annual harvest—the restaurant flirts with this theme of plenty. Serving international gourmet cuisine in an intimate 65-seat setting, Annona is a favourite with celebrities during Toronto’s International Film Festival, as well as Yorkville’s fashionistas, the business sect, and, of course, their very own hotel guests. The interior is a softly lit and elegant space, featuring wall-to-ceiling windows that overlook the bustling streets, lovely banquette seating, gorgeous designer place settings, rich wooden tones, and attractive domed light fixtures. Recipient of the coveted CAA / AAA Four Diamond Award, Annona has secured its place as one of the finest restaurants Toronto has to offer.
Kosher Cuisine with an Emphasis on Fresh Seafood
Annona serves breakfast on weekdays, brunch on weekends, lunch and dinner daily, as well as afternoon tea from 3-5 p.m. Specializing in continental cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh seafood, executive chef Joan Monfaredi focuses on innovative dishes without all the fancy names. Since the cuisine at Annona takes on different motifs (for instance, October sees the Pink Menu, inspired by pink-hued foods, and a portion of each meal is donated to breast cancer research), the bill of fare may not always be what you expected. Keep an eye out for the cod fillet wrapped in rice paper, seafood risotto with morel mushrooms, grilled angus fillet in a red wine sauce, filet mignon and gorgonzola gnocci, and rack of lamb with pearl onions and herb sauce.
