Easy to Miss
Amnesia is the type of place that is easy to not notice while strutting through the Annex. Its outside is non-descript, and the name implies something more akin to the frou-frou establishments that pop up occasionally, but don’t dominate, that stretch of Bloor St. On the inside, however, Amnesia is a treasure of unpretentious and neighbourly camaraderie.

The Name of the Game
Boozing is the name of the game when hunkering down for a night at Amnesia. A pool table in the back is perfect for passing the hours, and the digital jukebox offers patrons a chance to rock out their own whims at their own discretion. While the song selection is certainly typical of a Toronto bar, it is impressively vast and varied. While there is no patio, a bench and ashtrays have been placed outside the front of the bar for smokers to enjoy, albeit without their drinks.

Good Times for Everyone
A limited menu is posted above the bar. It consists of standard bar food, like burgers and sandwiches. Serving it are some of the friendliest staff in the Annex, who will make an effort to get to know you if you show your face more than once. It seems as though the regular patrons share this outlook, and are anxious to incorporate new visitors into their good time.
