Shelter from the Night
In addition to the tasty eats, the atmosphere is perfectly suited for those 3 a.m. excursions. While the city is dark and the patrons tired, the restaurant’s interior is alluringly warm and dim. Primarily composed of exposed brick and wood, with low lighting and a generous amount of candles, each of the three floors features a subtlety perfect for nighttime.
24-Hour Party People
True to its “XXIV” hours of operation, 7 West offers clubbers and nighthawks an “all the time breakfast” of scrambled eggs, bacon, homefries, and sausages. The pita pizzas and the various chocolate cakes that are available, however, also manage to satiate those late-night cravings. Patrons also favour the 7 West Sampler. It is a pikilia-like dish that is composed of chevre, hummus, bruschetta, sundried tomatoes, kalamata olives, bocconcini and grilled pita. Another favourite is the penne chicken with mushrooms, red peppers, and parmesan in a white wine cream sauce. The enormous sandwiches, like the delicious tuna melt, the prosciutto fritte (sauteed with onions, tomato and cheese), and the panino (with bocconcini cheese, alfalfa sprouts and avocado spread) also make for a good lunch or early morning breakfast. Vegetarian and Moroccan chillis, moreover have been called out by local restaurant critics as particularly worth the visit to 7 West.
